This opal is from Lightening Ridge in Queensland Australia, although is does not have a measurable black background, the play of color is amazing! It weighs approximately 1 carat and is framed in 22K gold. The shank is 4mm wide and 1 mm thick with a knife edge texture on the edge of the shank, leaving the side highly polished. Size 8 1/2
